Greetings and Salutations!

Allow me to introduce you all to LitRecognition, a group focused on featuring those in the community and sharing their magnificent words. We do not accept submissions through this group, but we do accept suggestions for people and pieces to feature. It is our goal to give proper recognition to the little-known works that deserve that extra attention.

Throughout the week, we will be presenting several different types of features for you all to enjoy. But, we certainly cannot do it all ourselves! We are always going to be looking for participation from the community to help keep things rolling; it was, is, and always will be, a community-based feature.

Over the last handful of months, two of us have been brainstorming and plotting our way to this moment; the grand re-opening of an old deviantArt Literature staple. Despite strange schedules, new jobs, and life, we have finally reached this point. And, at this point, we would like to introduce ourselves, and share a little about us.

Medoriko - I've been on dA for 12 years as a poet, pretty exclusively. It wasn't until halfway through my time here that I started to actually be a part of the lit community. It started with joining any and all lit groups that I could, and trying to put my writing out there. I had never considered making my own group or being an admin/mod for any, it sorta just happened at one point. I've helped out quite a handful of groups by now, and I am the owner of the group: NaPoWriMo, and of course I co-run LitRecognition. It is my aim to be as helpful as possible around the community, especially to those who are new or are still trying to get noticed. On a non-dA related note, I can usually be found gaming, watching sports or thinking about Coheed and Cambria.

PennedinWhite – I am long time Deviant of 16ish years, spaced across a couple of names. I am a hobbyist writer of non-fiction and flash fiction, but I love reading anything. As a young mom of a 3 yr old red-headed boy, life around my house is rarely dull. Inspiration for my stories often come from my son’s antics, my past life experiences, and random thought patterns. I am a strong advocate for Mental Health, as it is something I deal with on a daily basis myself. My experiences with it often drives a lot of my writings. My involvement with the literature community has been touch and go, but it always draws me back at some point or another. I have volunteered in a couple of groups over the years: CRLiterature, TheWritePlace, and of course LitRecognition. I had been a contributor for LitRecognition long before its name was changed from DailyLitDeviations. I am a huge American football fan, so…hit me up as long as you aren’t a New England Patriots fan.

Now, we want to get to know all of you! Post a neat fact about yourself that people may not know and share the last writing you added to your favorites!
